Amazon Kindle is an Electronic Book (e-book), that is essentially an iPod for books. Kindle looks like a mod oversized calculator. It is much lighter than a book and very comfortable to hold. It doesn't have a regular LCD Display, but a black and white electronic - paper screen, which is extremely readable.
It has wireless access through Sprint, and you can download Books from Amazon, and read them on Kindle. The high speed wireless access comes free with Kindle. So everything you buy or subscribe to just gets downloaded seamlessly. You can wirelessly download books, blogs, magazines and newspapers.
It has 64 Mb. of Memory, and has an SD memory card expansion slot for upto 4 Gb. of more memory. The battery lasts almost 1 week with the wireless function turned off and can be charged in a couple of hours. This Tool currently sells for $399, and it is possible that it may someday completely replace paper text books!!

I "invested" in a Kindle and I LOVE my new Gizmo (yes, I named it)! If you are an avid reader and like to carry books along with you for breaks in office routine (like we get any...but it would be a healthy behavior) or on vacation/trips...this baby is a must have! Amazon has reduced the original cost to $350 (after I purchased mine, of course). They download your purchased book or newspaper or periodical via whispernet for free! You wake up in the AM and your paper is on Kindle instead of your doorstep. The selections increase exponentially every day. My highest cost for a book has been $9.99. They do go higher (like manuals or professional resource books), but for those of us who cannot throw a book away or even bear to bring it to McKays, Amazon stores ALL your purchases on their server giving you self room for...hmmm, things you need to shelve.
